If you're looking for employment, and you speak English as a foreign language, you may be interested in an EFL job. EFL stands for English as a Foreign Language, and these types of jobs are in high demand all over the world. When you speak one or more languages, and English, there are many jobs you can do. It all depends on the language or languages you speak, and where you want to go. All you have to do to find one of these jobs is to search the employment sites online, as there are many jobs available. English is not an easy language to learn. It oftentimes doesn't follow obvious rules. So the fact that you speak it, as well as one or more other languages, will definitely be attractive to potential employers.

Translating: A great EFL job you can do is translating. You can translate for politicians, for customer service call centers, and you can even translate for private people who may hire you while they're in town. Translating can be very difficult as you have to be quick on your feet. You have to be able to absorb everything the person you're translating for is saying, and then repeat it as closely as possible to the other person in English. This requires a very good command of both languages. One of the problems translators get into is the failure to understanding slang and various colloquialisms. But you shouldn't be afraid to ask questions if you don't quite understand. After all, that's your job; to make sure everyone understands everyone else.

Teaching: Teaching is another great EFL job you can get. You don't even need to travel abroad to get an EFL job teaching. There are always language classes being held all over the world, so you should have no problem finding a teaching job. It might be teaching English to Chinese children, or it may be teaching Chinese to English speaking children; whatever you want to do. As long as you have a great command of both languages, you can teach anyone.

If you know English as a foreign language, and you're looking for a job, you should really consider an EFL job. It's rewarding, fun and you can often make a lot of money doing it since such people are in very high demand. All one has to do is visit the many job search sites online to see just how many EFL jobs are out there. The above are just a few examples of what you can do when you know English as a foreign language.
